The Company

History

The company originates from the creation of the first "sworn" insurance broker at the Rouen Stock Exchange in 1793.

In 1999, Bidault de Bardy, formed in 1980 by the last two "sworn" insurance brokers in Rouen, merged with Philmar Assurances, formed in Paris in 1989, to create CAP-Marine Assurances and Reassurances.

CAP-MARINE is now one of the leading brokers for hull insurance business, marine offshore industry and logistics companies.

CAP-MARINE has set up an office in Nantes in 2002 through the buyout of Cabinet FAVRE, specialised in fishing and passenger boats insurance.

The activitity of CAP-MARINE is completed by ASSTER. insurance broker for industrial risks.

CAP-MARINE is a major player on the French domestic market, as well as a reguler supplier of other international marine insurance markets.

CAP-MARINE manages a portfolio of over 450 clients and places insurance cover for more than 8800 vessels flying all flags. The company has correspondents in all the main world maritime centres such as London, Bergen, Hamburg, Genoa, New York, Oslo, Piraeus and Santiago.
